Live Dealer Roulette
There are a couple of complaints that a lot of people have about online roulette games. The first among these is the decision that the software has to make with its RNG (random number generator) to determine which number comes up.
Even though both the RNG and Live Dealer are completely random, it doesn't feel completely right when you lose to a computer. With the live roulette dealer, you can see where the ball lands and you don't have to wonder if it is up to a computer decision which number comes up.
Another thing that I personally dislike about computer roulette games is the lack of build to the ball landing on a number. When the dealer spins the ball, you will be able to see how close the ball is from landing on a number you bet. If the ball starts to settle on the wrong half of the wheel or passes your number by, at least you know that as well.
Many online roulette games are just way too fast; you press Spin and watch the ball quickly end up on a number. It would be nice if the online casino software developers could figure out a realistic representation of the ball going around the roulette wheel.
Above, what you see is the full screen view of a roulette table at Bet365.
This is the best way to view the bets made before the spin. In order to place your bets, you will need to open the betting screen as
shown on the right.
Here it is exactly like placing your bets on the online roulette game. You probably will be playing with other players at the table. You and your neighbours will be given time to place your bets; once the time is up, the dealer will prepare to spin.
When the dealer spins, the camera view can switch from the whole table to a close-up on the roulette wheel. You will be able to see the marble and numbers very easily as the ball lands on its spot. From there, the players will receive money in their casino account for winning bets and the cycle will start over again.
Other Live Roulette Dealer Casinos
I have obviously highlighted the Live Dealer services at Bet365. This is the place that I prefer to play because of the number of options and dealers that they offer. There are both European and Asian dealers for Roulette, Blackjack and Baccarat tables. There is also a Euro live VIP Roulette table as well as an Asian Sic Bo live dealer.
In addition to Bet365, there are a couple of other live dealer sites that I would like to share with you. The first is
Golden Palace. They were one of the first casinos to come out
with live dealer tables and are still one of the best to play at.
Golden Palace has a lot of live dealer options for you to choose from as well. In addition to Live Roulette, they also offer Live Blackjack, Live Unlimited Blackjack, Live Baccarat, Progressive Live Baccarat, VIP Baccarat, In Running Baccarat, Live Mini Baccarat, Live Sic Bo and Live Mahjong Paigow.
Like Bet365, Golden Palace also offers both European and Asian dealers at their live tables. Both casinos also use Playtech's software for all of their casino games.
For those of you who like Microgaming casino games better, you can also try live dealer games at
Roxy Palace. The Live Dealer tables are not
going to have anything special to offer that the two casinos above don't have.
However, most people I know like to play both the Live Dealer and the regular casino games offered at an online casino. In case you like playing Microgaming's casino games, you can also play Live Dealer games like roulette, blackjack and baccarat at Roxy Palace. There are a couple other Microgaming live dealer casinos, but they all use the same live dealer service.
Live American Roulette
One important thing that most American roulette players will need to know is that the casinos above will not currently accept bets from
residents of the United States. However, I have found one online casino that offers American Roulette with a live dealer. This live
dealer table can be found at 5Dimes.
5Dimes is currently in the process of revamping the live dealer interaction software which was in dire need of updating. The live roulette table may not be available at certain times as they replace and test out the new software. The screenshot is from the old software that 5Dimes was using for their live dealer tables. I will update this section when the new live dealer tables are ready.
The easiest way to tell that you are playing American Roulette is the addition of the 00 on the table. If you take a look at the other screenshots of European Roulette, there is only the 0 on the table.
